Amy + Brad
The past month has been a blur of weddings and for one of them I had the pleasure of making the invitations. My lovely cousin Amy got married last Friday and everything was absolutely adorable! Her invitations are quite lovely as well if I do say so myself.

Brinapoly!
In glorious celebration of our dearest and sweetest friend Miss Brina Jolin, Daniel and I created a board game all about her life so far as a birthday present. Thank you to everyone, and there were a lot of ya, who contributed! I believe Brina actually might have blushed a couple of times while reading the chance cards. Fo shame you wanton woman! Ya'll are welcome to stop by and play it whenever you feel. A special thank you goes out to Miss Mindy Tucker for capturing all of Brina's delicate femininity!

Stationery Preview
If you've spent any time around me over the past year then you've probably heard me blabbing about how I want to start my own stationery line. Mostly it's just been my poor co-workers who have to tolerate all the nonsense that comes out of me. Wha-La! It wasn't all talk...I've actually created the first series. Inspired by my uber southern surrounding, the first line is all summer fruits. Perfect for bridal showers, ladies luncheons and what have yous! I hope to have them available for purchase in 2012.

Inappropriate Colonial Greetings

A couple years ago while hanging out with a friend I got to flipping through her old high school sketchbooks. It's contents crammed full of insults, penis doodles and found treasures smooshed between the pages. Mostly bugs, leaves and trash labels, albeit no less sentimental than more ordinary gals daisies I imagine. Tucked into the middle of this dirty, worn out, soda splattered book there was a fantastical word play that had taken place. All of which were insults. The vulgar kind. The sort that make you snort, re-read to reassure that's what you really read then chuckle while shaking your head pondering, who thinks of things like that? I was told later it took place on a beach in Hawaii in the wee hours of the morning, while the beach sweepers were out. This makes it all the more hysterical. Who lays on the beach at sunrise thinking up disgusting insults? I know exactly who because I'm friends with them but not all of us are blessed with the sort of folks I keep in my menagerie. That's why in the spirit of keeping friends egos tackly in place I've created illustrations to accompany my favorites. All dapperly styled after the collections name sake Colonial Squat, obviously my favorite of the bunch. The full inappropriate greetings collection will be available in 2012.

Yays for Love!
I had the pleasure of creating a wedding ensemble for a friend's daughter's wedding. They both have the same name, how ridiculous! They are silly cute and I wish them bushels of happiness together. Fireside Printing is guilty of the gorgeous two color letterpress shown on Crane's futura white stock.
So so pretty!

10*Shirts
My friend Hiro and his pal Takuro came up with a genius way to unite artists around the world using nothing but a basic white tee and nostalgic movie themes. Each shirt will be customized by ten artists, a whopping hundred artists in total. I kicked off Buffalo'66 here in Georgia and am excited to see where it leads! You can get the full scoop yourself at 10-shirts.com

Orange and Apple
Both quick still life studies from my pantry series. I donated both pieces to the Joseph Sams School's 24th Annual Dinner, Dance and Auction to help raise funds to better serve children with special needs in the Fayetteville county area.

Tomato So Juicy
Publix has huge tomato plants on display in front of the store already. My freckles are multiplying by the minute and the mighty southern sun has already branded my pale naive limbs with all the seduction and swagger of Tennessee Williams. I can't wait for summer!

Finger Foods
While continuing my quick still life studies, no more than a handful of hours spent on each, I decided to extend my subject matter to the kitchen pantry. Grape Tomatoes & Olive are both a wee 4 by 4 inches.

Southern Snow
Snow in the South is wonderful. It has a kind of magic and mystery that it has nowhere else. And the reason for this is that it comes to people in the South not as the grim, unyielding tenant of Winter's keep, but as a strange and wild visitor from the secret North. - that's a poem, sillies.
Having moved from New York to Georgia at the onset of winter I witnessed snow's magic first hand. Georgia was wrapped up in a slushy blanket of snow and sleet that hushed the fiery state with oohs and awws of child like amazement. It also allowed me ample time to paint.

The J. Peterman Look
I recently applied for an illustration gig with The J. Peterman Company. Yep thats right, the catalog. Cause I'm classy. This led to an interesting discovery. I only paint clothing when it's on people and even then I prefer to paint nudes. So I sat down for a couple hours and did that which had not been done before. I painted random articles of clothing.

Art House Sketchbook Project!

So Art House is this awesome gallery / art co-op in Atlanta and at the moment I am in love with them. This is the first project I've done with them and it hasn't exhibited yet but I'm psyched about participating in more of 'em! You can check out more about the project at arthousecoop.com ( I'll be posting the show dates for folks who want to check out the book in person )
